Cats for adoption: All cats are vetted, spayed or neutered, vaccinated, wormed, earmite treated, and treated for fleas. Tailless cats are microchipped. Adoption fees are approx. the basic vet costs for that cat.
Kiffles is a pretty silver tabby and white stumpy Manx born about June 2008. She showed up as a stray at a ladies house, refusing to be petted or captured until a few days before her kittens were born. Then she came inside to have her kittens. Once the kittens were weaned, Kiffles came to TCR.
When she arrived, a broken canine tooth alerted us to the fact that she had some sort of mouth trauma in the past. So at the time of the spay the vet removed the broken tooth and checked out the rest of her mouth to make sure all was well.
She's very sweet, and small, less than 7 pounds. She likes to be petted, especially around the face and neck, and she loves to play. A rattly football toy is one of her favorites! She does OK with non aggressive cats, but probably would be perfectly happy as an only cat also.
Kiffles is vaccinated, vetted, wormed, spayed, microchipped, and FeLV/FIV negative. Thanks to a sponsorship, her adoption fee is only $60.

CC is a beautiful blue short haired stumpy Manx born about July 2000. He is very sweet and affectionate, and loves to be petted. He's used to living with other cats. He's also front declawed. He weighs about 8 3/4 pounds. He has one crinkled ear from an old injury, but it doesn't bother him. He's very much a lap cat and will climb right into your lap to snuggle and be petted. The nicest thing is when he's sitting on your lap, he'll look into your face and gently touch your cheek with his paw. What a sweetheart. He also adores being brushed!
CC had a home, but lost it when his owners decided to reduce the number of pets they had. Poor CC wound up in a kill shelter, but was lucky when the shelter contacted TCR and we took him in.
He is vaccinated, vetted, wormed, neutered, microchipped, and FeLV/FIV negative. His adoption fee is $50.
Job 12:7 Ask the animals and they will teach you...
Kiera is a cute, petite, stumpy bobtail Manx, who weighs only about 6 pounds. She was born around February 1, 2007 and was rescued from a shelter where the conditions were so horrible that the state shut it down! Kiera arrived terrified and thin, but quickly recovered. She's blossomed into a very sweet-natured and affectionate cat, who adores being petted. When given attention, Kiera paces back and forth emitting a HUGE purr for such a little lady!
Kiera also interacts well with all the other foster and resident cats at TCR, she's never met a cat she didn't like on first sight. She needs to be in a home with at least one other cat. She's also unconcerned about dogs.
Kiera has a chronic gum inflammation known as "gingivitis". This is not the same as "stomatitis". She has had a teeth cleaning and 4 teeth removed, but because of a reaction to the anesthetic the vet does not recommend any more dental work. She's eating canned food just fine, it just means she may lose her teeth earlier than other cats...not a problem since she loves canned food and can eat it with or without teeth.
Kiera's sweet and affectionate nature would make her a welcome addition to just about any home with a quiet environment. In my opinion, very young children might prove too much for this gentle little lady
She is vaccinated, vetted, wormed, spayed, microchipped, and FeLV/FIV negative. Thanks to a sponsor, her adoption fee is reduced from $140 to $75.

Though petite for their breed, Meri and Tasha are purebred Pixie-bobs. Meri was born on 11/15/2007 and now weighs around 8.5 lbs. Tasha's birthday is 12/30/2007 and she currently weighs about 7 lbs. Both were rescued from a home in which they were being badly neglected. A kind person saw the situation and convinced the owner to give her the cats. Unfortunately, the rescuer was not able to keep them and transferred the girls to her adult daughter's care. Unable to keep Meri and Tasha herself, the daughter looked for a rescue group, which is how these beautiful and uncommon cats came to TCR.
In spite of all this upheaval in her life, Meri has turned out to be very sweet and affectionate. Understandably, she can be a little shy at first with new people. Once comfortable with you, she will want your attention and loves being petted. As for interacting with other cats, Meri has a dominant personality. She would do best as an only cat or if adopted with Tasha.
Poor Tasha did not handle all the sudden changes well. For a long time she simply hid under furniture at the sight of a person. Fortunately, patient TLC seems to be helping this little lady relax and become more comfortable with people. It is still a work in progress. Some days she’ll be nervous and hide; others she’ll roll around and practically drool that you’re there to pet her. However, Tasha is improving daily and I’m seeing her gentle, sweet personality blossom. Tasha seems to love all cats and is doing quite well interacting with the other foster cats at TCR.
Originally I thought that it would be cruel to separate Meri and Tasha. That no longer seems to be the case, though it would be nice to see them remain together after all this time. Both would do best in a quiet home with a patient and understanding caregiver. If adopted separately, Tasha would benefit from the company of one or more other gentle and social cats. Neither cat does well with dogs so they need a no dogs home.
Both girls are vaccinated, vetted, wormed, spayed, microchipped, and FeLV/FIV negative. The adoption fee for each individually is $100. Thanks to a sponsor the fee for adopting Meri and Tasha together is only $100 total.
Born about January 2007 and weighing around 7 1/2 pounds, Tara is an attractive, short haired, rumpy riser Manx. Trapped as a stray, she was sent to a high-kill shelter, which much to my surprise actually held Tara for several weeks so that TCR could rescue her!
Unfortunately, that shelter overlooked a serious bladder infection, which left Tara in a great deal of pain and stress during those weeks. TCR noticed the problem the day of her arrival and had her immediately treated. Tara quickly recovered, but now has a higher chance of developing cystitis. Fortunately, Tara is doing well on a diet of a kind of "soup" made from canned cat food and extra water, which helps to increase her water intake and keep the urinary crystals from forming.
Life in general must have been difficult for Tara prior to coming to TCR. Though very much wanting love and affection, she was timid and easily frightened, taking several days to warm up to strange people. In the months that Tara has been fostering with TCR, however, we've seen amazing improvement in her social skills. She now interacts well with most of the other cats at TCR and as hoped, socializing with the other cats has helped to ease her fears and timidness.
Being around kind and caring people has also inspired Tara to become a wonderful lap cat. Whether I put Tara in my lap or she comes up on her own, she relishes the attention and being petted. She also surprised me on a couple of recent occasions when friends came to visit.Instead of running and hiding, Tara sized each visitor up for cat-friendliness and before I knew it, was sprawled out next to that person and demanding attention! She can still be a bit nervous at times. A strange noise the other night sent her leaping off my lap and running to hide. But considering her state when she first arrived at TCR, this pretty little lady has made wonderful progress and is a pleasure to be around!
I would now expect Tara to do well in a quiet home with a patient, loving and understanding owner. She'd do fine with another non aggressive cat, or would be happy as an only cat.
Tara is vaccinated, vetted, wormed, spayed, microchipped, and FeLV/ FIV negative. Her adoption fee is $110.
Neko is a rare black Japanese Bobtail born about 3-27-2008. He was rescued from a hoarding situation with 70+ cats in a 5 room house. A handsome fellow with his sleek black coat and golden eyes, Neko is an excellent example of just how wonderful solid black cats can be. He is very friendly and affectionate, loving attention and being petted. He might even turn out to be a cuddly lap cat once in a loving home. Neko is definitely quite the charmer! An active and playful cat, he is curious about his surroundings and does well with other cats. He needs a home with at least one other cat buddy. He also loves to play fetch.
Like many bobtail cats, Neko has a tendency towards constipation so needs a high fiber food. Since he's also chubby he's doing very well on Iams hairball and weight control food. If a handsome, affectionate and playful fellow of exotic ancestry strikes your fancy, then Neko is definitely one for you to consider!
He is vaccinated, vetted, wormed, neutered, microchipped, and FeLV/FIV negative. His adoption fee is $50.

Nimbus is a beautiful grey and white girl, somewhere between short haired and medium haired. She was born about July 2005 and weighs about 8 pounds. She is very loving, kneading every chance she gets, and raising up on her hind legs to rub her head against your hand. She also has the biggest, most beautiful eyes I've seen on a non-Manx cat. Ok, you guessed it, she has a tail. But don't let that stop you, she's a very special girl.
We don't know how she came to be alone outside, skinny and hungry, but it's obvious she was well loved at some point. It won't take long for good food to put a sleekness back in her coat. She's adorable, she'll sit up on her hind legs and beg for her food bowl at feeding times and she likes to talk. She doesn't meow though, she chirps and trills so it almost sounds like she's singing to you. She gets along fine with other cats, but would be fine as an only cat as well.
Nimbus is vaccinated, vetted, wormed, spayed, microchipped, and FeLV/FIV negative. Thanks to a sponsor her adoption fee is only $50 and includes registration of her microchip.

He loves to be petted and is happy to chirp and talk to you. He does very well with most other cats, he loves to play chase and wrestle. He's also a snuggle cat with people, loving to be held and cuddled. He is shy with new people at first, particularly men, but once he warms up, what a sweetheart!

She is vaccinated, vetted, wormed, spayed, microchipped, and FeLV/FIV negative. Her adoption fee is $50.
