Tips and links to use if your pet gets lost

First
, don't wait, start looking and using these resources immediately.
Second
, don't give up, pets can be found many weeks after they are lost if you are persistent.
Third
, don't think other people will remember.  Go door to door in the same neighborhoods every 2-3 weeks.  You might be the kind of person who puts a flyer on your fridge, many people won't.  Replace lost pet posters every couple weeks, using a different color paper each time.  Cardstock works better than regular paper, holds up to rain well.

Whether you've lost or found a pet, be sure and file a report with the nearest animal shelter.  And if you've lost a pet, visit the shelter in person, they aren't always good at matching your description with a pet they have on hand.
